Sarah is a lifelong learner, a quick study, and great fun. Having worked with Sarah as a buyer and a vendor several times, we’re now thrilled to see her in the Cashmores office as our newest salesperson.
How did you get into real estate?
After getting into the investment property game and renovating several homes, I found a love of all things property. I enjoyed every minute of going to open homes and the excitement of auctions (even the properties I missed out on). The satisfaction of selling a property after all the blood sweat and tears of renovating! I discovered I am a bloody good painter!
You’ve got numerous graduate and post-grad qualifications, and have had a successful teaching career. Why real estate?
Over the years I have developed many meaningful relationships that have only happened from being involved with property. I am a people person, and I love connecting with people from all walks of life.
What sets you apart as an agent?
I understand what it takes to get a property to market successfully. My experience with investing, renovating, subdivision and building give me a really well-rounded view of what people want and how to recognise the value in every property. Finally – I’m known for giving it to people straight! Selling a home is such an important job to be trusted with, and I respect that role by being completely honest and open.
Who are the important people in your life?
I have a 20 year old son who is studying Maths and Physics at Auckland Uni. My husband Andrew – he’s passed on his love of motorbiking and I’m now learning. And we have an adored Labrador Jett.
Describe your ideal day?
It would definitely be outdoors! I love hiking, sailing, golfing, getting out on the bike – and I’m now getting into lawn bowls!
If a good friend was looking for a real estate agent, what advice would you give them?
Find someone who has lived the experience of buying and selling themselves, so they can help you find your why. You need someone who can bring clarity at times when there can be a lot of information to process. And it’s so important you find someone you can trust, that you connect with personally.
Why did you choose to join the Cashmores team?
Having bought and sold property with Cashmores we developed a relationship over the years. I have always found Cashmores to be honest, hardworking, reliable, goal focused and importantly – they have a good sense of humour!
