Making the city great again

From Bahama Hut to the Kestrel Tauranga’s CBD has featured some real bangers in it’s time. The latest addition, Elizabeth Towers, is no exception and has got locals talking.

It’s no secret that the city has been looking a little tired with a number of shops sitting vacant; something many put down to the likes of the opening of The Crossing in The Lakes and of course, Covid 19. But we are very hopeful the catalyst for change will be thanks to Elizabeth Towers.

This huge development is happening on the corner of Elizabeth Street and Devonport Road and if you have not seen it yet, (well we are not sure where you have been if you haven’t) it’s worth a cruise downtown to check it out. The Cashmores head office sits next door and with every new nail added, our excitement builds. With front row seats, we have seen cranes come and go, traffic diverted, building wraps appear overnight, and levels getting added. It keeps going up and up!

Each day a huge amount of people work on the site and it is a project that trades people across the country have been eager to be a part of and leave their legacy. It’s unlikely we’ll see another development of this scale in the CBD for quite some time.

So, what makes Elizabeth Towers outstanding? For starters, the two towers will house 97 high-end apartments, alongside 23 luxury townhouses. Imagine living in the heart of the CBD with city-light views and the waterfront surrounding you. And if you’re feeling peckish, you’ll have a number of fine dining options literally at your doorstep. The secure residential area features a gym, pool, spa, entertainment lounge, and sky garden. There is no doubt these will be of great interest for those wanting to embrace inner city living at its very best.

Elizabeth Towers will also include a number of attractive options for the public including its dining precinct, the ultimate spot to share a meal with friends, or an after-work drink. Farmers will use two levels and be the dominant retailer. Other stores include Whitcoulls, Pascoes, and more that are still to be announced.

The Cashmores team are looking forward to being next to the action when Elizabeth Towers opens and locals flock to the city. New opportunities will make Tauranga great again with an increase in jobs, more vibrant nightlife, and a larger range for those seeking some retail therapy. Bring it on, we will see you there!
